There are several factors to take into account when we spray pests or surfaces for our lab tests.
- First, you have to control any air flow or cross current that can cause a portion of the spray to miss the target.
- Next, you have to be concerned with any contamination from one treatment to targets intended for a different treatment type, or intended as controls.
- Lastly, you have to account for EPA’s likely questions about the appropriate conditions for the product.
Snell Sci has an outdoor spray shed for all of our applications since most products are intended for both outside and inside applications and to avoid cross contamination. Our spray shed is open to the outdoor air but blocked from any wind on all sides. This allows us to apply under both indoor conditions (without cross contamination) and outdoor conditions without any sacrifices in quality of the applications. Luckily we are in Georgia so the weather is almost always ideal outside, and we have a short covered walkway to the spray shed to protect from any rain. The environment you choose for spray applications can be complicated and never quite ideal. Our goal is to keep it outside, with near-zero air movement, no cross contamination problems, and no adverse weather factors.
